National Vice President
Ben Vaissade joined the Society of St. Vincent de Paul in October 1992 as Stores’ Operations Manager for the District Council of San Mateo California.
Ben retired from this position in September 2000 only to return shortly thereafter to become the volunteer Executive Director and board member for the San Francisco Archdiocesan Council. In this capacity he served on many occasions as proxy for the Archdiocesan President at National and regional meetings.
He also served as regional Vice Chair and traveled throughout the central portion of the region assisting the Western Regional Chair and Spiritual Advisor in establishing new conferences within the region.
Ben has served the past six years as Western Regional Vice President compromising the ten western states. In this capacity, he has also served on the Society’s National Board of Directors.
Prior to joining the St. Vincent de Paul Society, Ben was Executive Vice President for a specialty retail chain with multi stores located in the San Francisco Bay Area.
In 1976 he attended Stanford University’s Graduate School of Business in Palo Alto CA, and is a graduate of the Sloan Executive Program.
He is currently a member of the Church of the Nativity parish in Menlo Park California.
