Independent producer James Rutenbeck spent four years following the personal stories of a traditionally Irish-American parish coming to terms with the Latino city that surrounds it. The film examines the challenges faced by Saint Vincent de Paul volunteers in a city divided by poverty, language barriers and ethnic tension.
