Scenes from a Parish - Thursday, December 11, 2008
Scenes from a Parish is a new feature length documentary about Saint Patrick Parish in Lawrence, the poorest city in Massachusetts. Independent producer James Rutenbeck spent four years following the personal stories of a traditionally Irish-American parish coming to terms with the Latino city that surrounds it. The film examines the challenges faced by Saint Vincent de Paul volunteers in a city divided by poverty, language barriers and ethnic tension.
